At our four-day surf camp we’ll give the kids a great time and slip them a few cool skills along the way. We cover everything from body-boarding to surfing, to staying safe in the ocean, to conquering the waves. For confident surfers, we’ll help fine-tune their technique so they can really rip! For the less experienced, we’ll help boost their confidence, brief them on important safety information, and get them standing before they can yell, ‘Hey Mum! Look at me!’

The team at Lets Go Surfing will be providing FREE surf lessons this November.

These lessons are for members of our local community who have always wanted to give surfing a try! The free November sessions will be a great taste of surfing for adults and kids a chance to try it for free.

All equipment is supplied, safe soft surfboards, wetsuits, UV rashvests even sunblock and all participants receive a commemorative certificate. To book a lessons you will need to have proof that you are a Waverley Council resident eg address on your drivers license.

“We all live and work in the local community and have the privilege of teaching surfing this is our thankyou to Waverley residents from our team!” Brenda Miley Surf School Founder.

We also offer monthly free community “Surf Harmony” classes for people who want to feel safe in the surf and learn some beach safety tips in a practical way without surfing, if you or someone you know would like to take part in one of these classes give us a call or e-mail for more details.

Free sessions are from Monday 19th – Sunday 25th November 2012.

Monday – Friday: 7.00am – 8.00am
Saturday and Sunday – 12.00pm – 1.00pm

Adults and/or kids are welcome to book into any of these sessions.

Your pass gives you 10 days of surfing; 5 x 2hr lessons (all eqipment included) plus an extra 5 x 2hr board & wetsuit hires/rental this gives you the water time you need to develop some awesome surfing skills, we will have you surfing like a local!  That’s 20 hours of surf time, at your choice of time, day and beach!

Did you go ice skating on Bondi Beach recently? If you missed it an ice rink was set up on the sand near 2^nd ramp. Anyone looking for something new or novel could give it a whirl. A week ago, when the swell came up to about 8 foot, those running the show may have been a bit concerned. Thankfully the waves only lapped at the edge of the rink on the high tide. Any further up and things may have been interesting.

One of Gezza’s golden rules was that “one wave always comes up further than the rest.” How many times have you been to Bondi and seen someone get caught out by the bigger wave. Those new to the beach roll up the pant legs to get their feet wet. You stop, you stare, you wait. You know what’s going on here. It won’t be long till they wander down to the shore line. Toes touch the water and it’s a thrill. Laughter and giggles all round. Then the wave recedes and nothing, no water, no splashing, no thrill. So they venture down a tad further. (This is going to be good). BAM! That bigger wave hits! Rolling the duds up to the shin wasn’t quite enough. The higher the wave gets them the funnier it is. Wet knees are amusing but a wet backside and groin is hilarious.  If it knocks them over – you beauty! (There’s a story to share with friends). Hopefully our wet friend will see the funny side too. Either way, at least they learnt a valuable lesson. See you in the line-up.
