Changing lives, one wave at a time
Community is in our DNA. It’s been that way since 1995.
At Lets Go Surfing, we believe surfing changes lives – and for us, it’s about much more than just riding waves.
Since 1995, we’ve proudly been part of the Bondi Beach community. From first-time surfers to seasoned locals, we’ve helped thousands of people connect with the ocean, build confidence, and experience the joy of surfing.
But what truly defines us is our deep, long-standing commitment to giving back – to the beach, to our community, and to those who benefit most from support and inclusion.
Surfing for Good – Our Community Impact
We love collaborating with our local schools, councils, charities, and national organisations to offer accessible, inclusive, and empowering surf experiences for people of all backgrounds and abilities.
Here are some of the Low Cost and No Cost programs and partnerships we’re proud to provide:
Waverley Council Kids Surfing Program
In partnership with Waverley Council, we love running school holiday and after-school programs that help local kids get active, stay safe, and build skills in the surf! We believe in empowering the next generation with ocean confidence, respect for the environment, and a lifelong love of the beach.
Blind Sports Australia
We’re proud to partner with Blind Sports Australia to run customised surf experiences for blind and low-vision participants – promoting independence, mobility, and ocean confidence. These sessions are designed to be inclusive, empowering, and fun and we believe surfing truly is for everyone.
Waves of Wellness Foundation (WOW)
With Waves of Wellness, we host surf therapy sessions that support mental health, resilience, and connection for people managing anxiety, stress, or social isolation. At LGS, we are passionate about mental health and deeply believe in the healing power of the ocean to restore, uplift, and reconnect.
Indigenous Surfing Programs
We regularly run surf sessions and beach safety programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth in collaboration with community groups, cultural mentors, and local schools – creating space for connection to land, water, and culture.
NDIS & Inclusive Surfing
Working closely with NDIS, we tailor lessons for people of all abilities. We work one-on-one and with support services to create safe, fun, and empowering ocean experiences. We believe surfing should be accessible to everyone – and we’re passionate about creating an inclusive environment where all abilities are celebrated in and out of the water.
Maccabi All Abilities SURF’S UP program
The Maccabi All Abilities Surf’s Up program offers inclusive surfing lessons at Bondi Beach for individuals with disabilities or neurodiversity. Led by Lets Go Surfing instructors, participants learn to surf, build ocean awareness, and socialise, with refreshments, lunch, and beach games included.
School & Youth Group Partnerships
We deliver surf programs to public and private schools across Sydney, as well as youth services, wellbeing organisations, and mentoring groups. We believe surfing becomes a tool for growth, confidence, and community connection.
Sustainability & Beach Stewardship
Lets Go Surfing is proudly Eco Accredited with Eco Tourism Australia. From regular beach clean-ups to community awareness days, we partner with environmental organisations to keep our beaches beautiful – because we believe surfing includes caring for the planet!
Lets Go Surfing: GIVE A WAVE AWAY PROGRAM
We collaborate with schools, councils, charities, and national organisations to offer accessible, inclusive, and empowering surf experiences for people of all backgrounds and abilities. We also proudly raise and donate funds to support causes that matter.
Who We Support Financially
Each year, Lets Go Surfing donates directly to a range of organisations doing critical work across the environment, youth support, health, and emergency response.
These include:
Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) – dedicated to protecting Australia’s ocean wildlife and habitats through advocacy, science, and community action.
WEAVE Youth & Community Services – Supporting women at risk, young people and families in need.
Red Cross Australia – supporting people in times of crisis through emergency relief, disaster response, mental health support, and community services across the country.
Fletcher Street Cottage – Fletcher St Cottage in Byron Bay is a community hub that provides support and services to people experiencing homelessness and hardship.
Dress For Success – help unemployed and underemployed women achieve economic independence by providing no-fee programs, development tools and professional attire to thrive in work and in life.
NSW Bushfire Appeals – helping rebuild after the Black Summer fires and beyond.
Giving Back Locally
In addition to financial donations, we regularly donate free or subsidised surf lessons and beach tours to local schools, youth services, and community organisations – ensuring more people get the chance to experience the joy and confidence that surfing brings.
Each year we support:
-
Local public and independent schools and P&Cs
-
Charity raffles, fundraisers, and school events
-
Local community groups, councils, and frontline services
We believe that giving back isn’t a side project – it’s part of who we are.
