What got you hooked on surfing?

I got hooked on surfing at around the age of 12. I’d been doing it for a couple of years already at this point, and it was around this age when a couple of my mates got into it.

What’s the best thing about working at a surf school?

I love seeing groms improve over several school terms. They go from a water shy kid on a 7’6″ board to a confident little surfer riding a 6’6″ on a green wave. Awesome to see!

What’s one tip you always give new surfers?

Be patient with yourself. It’s not the easiest sport to get the hang of, but giving yourself plenty of time in the water at your own pace will have you up and riding before you know it.
