Everyone’s Welcome at Lets Go Surfing
At Lets Go Surfing, we believe the ocean is for everyone – no matter your background, body, identity, or ability.
Since 1995, we’ve been helping people connect with the water, build confidence, and feel the joy of surfing. From day one, it’s been about more than just standing up on a board. We believe in creating a safe, inclusive space where all people feel welcome, respected, and celebrated.
The ocean doesn’t discriminate and neither do we.

LGBTQIA+ Inclusion
We welcome surfers of all genders, sexualities, identities, and expressions – whether you’re paddling out for the first time or returning to reconnect with the ocean. We’re proud of the space we’ve created and our welcoming and inclusive team. Here’s what inclusion looks like at Lets Go Surfing:
Here’s what inclusion looks like at LGS:
- A zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, harassment, or exclusion
- A respectful, trained team that creates a safe, inclusive vibe — in and out of the water
- Private or small group options for those who prefer to learn in a more comfortable setting
We deliver surfing experiences for the LGBTQIA+ community, including:
- Trans Health Week surf lessons
- Sydney Mardi Gras surf sessions
- Pride in Sport Festival programs
We’re proud members of both Pride in Sport and GALTA (the Gay & Lesbian Tourism Australia Association) and are always learning how to do better. We work hard to ensure all surfers feel seen, safe, supported, and celebrated.
We have done our best to ensure our team is trained, respectful and welcoming, and we proudly fly the rainbow flag in and out of the water. Whether you’re a first-timer or a returning regular, you’re always welcome here.

Our Diversity & Inclusion Position Statement
Lets Go Surfing is committed to providing a safe, fun and inclusive environment for all people, including those of diverse sexualities and genders. Being an inclusive sport not only reflects our core values, it also reflects the diversity of our local communities.
We have a zero-tolerance to any form of bullying, harassment or vilification towards people with diverse sexualities and genders. This includes forms of homophobia, biphobia or transphobia.
We’re passionate about helping people lead happy, healthy and active lives. Lets Go Surfing celebrates diversity of sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, intersex status, ability, skill, cultural background, ethnicity, location, religious or political beliefs, and life stage. There is a place in our sport for everyone, exactly as you are.
